Yafei Yang

About

Yafei Yang is a bilingual (Mandarin–English) Registered Psychologist at Future Minds Psychology, supporting children and families across Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.

Yafei works with children, adolescents and families to navigate challenges, build resilience, and develop practical strategies for everyday life. She is particularly experienced in working with families who prefer to communicate in Mandarin, and can conduct sessions and explain assessment findings clearly in both English and Chinese (普通话).

Yafei completed her Honours in Psychological Science and Master of Educational Psychology at the University of Melbourne. She has experience across private practice, schools, and Student Support Services (SSS), and brings a thoughtful, collaborative approach to her work with families and schools.

She has a strong interest in psychological and educational assessments, including comprehensive assessments for ADHD, autism (ASD), and learning difficulties. Her work focuses on developing a clear understanding of each child’s strengths and needs, and providing practical, tailored recommendations for home and school.

Yafei also provides therapy for children and adolescents, as well as parenting support and group programs focused on social, emotional and behavioural development.

She believes that children’s behaviour is a form of communication, and works with families to better understand what a child may be expressing through their actions.

Outside of work, Yafei enjoys hiking, visiting art galleries, spending time with family and friends, and caring for her cat.

可以用普通话与家长沟通,帮助家庭更好地理解孩子的需要,并清晰地解释评估结果和建议。
