Dr Nick Richardson

About

Dr Nick Richardson is a Clinical and Child Psychologist and the Clinical Director of Future Minds Psychology, a Melbourne-based practice supporting children, adolescents, young adults and families across the eastern suburbs.

He provides clinical leadership and supervision to the team, ensuring thoughtful, evidence-based care, and works collaboratively with schools, GPs and other professionals to support young people and their families.

Nick completed his clinical training at the University of Melbourne and Monash University, with his doctoral research focusing on how emotion regulation contributes to adolescent depression. He has also worked in government research at the Australian Institute of Family Studies, with a focus on child development, child protection, and parent separation.

Clinically, Nick has extensive experience in child and youth mental health services, including roles at Monash Health and Eastern Health. He held a senior position at Eastern Health, working across community, intake, and neurodevelopmental assessment teams, including autism (ASD) assessments.

Nick has particular experience in supporting young people with emotional regulation, anxiety, and developmental challenges, and in conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, including ADHD, autism and cognitive assessments.

His approach is warm, thoughtful and tailored to each young person, drawing on both talk-based and creative methods such as play and art.

With over 15 years’ experience across public and private settings, Nick established Future Minds Psychology to provide high-quality, evidence-based therapy and assessments for children, adolescents and families across Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.
